Tashkent has an urban fabric that has partially lost its original character over time due to substandard interventions, material deterioration, and functional disruptions. This project is based on a holistic revitalization approach that aims to make the historical identity of the street visible again and strengthen its relationship with the user.
Within the scope of the project, building facades were re-evaluated in accordance with original material and detail decisions; stone wall surfaces, wooden joinery, and traditional architectural elements were preserved and improved. Existing irregular additions were simplified, and facade integrity was restored. Thus, the street silhouette was transformed from a fragmented and haphazard appearance into a coherent architectural language.
The project is not merely a physical renovation, but also an intervention aimed at revitalizing public life. Through a pedestrian-prioritized approach, details that strengthen the facade-street relationship, and scaled interventions, the street has been transformed into a re-experienced urban space.
The Tashkent Street Revitalization Project offers a balanced architectural approach between preservation and transformation, integrating traces of the past into contemporary life without erasing them.
