The survey project prepared for this historical bridge located in Çankırı aims to document the current state of the structure using scientific and technical methods. Built of stone, the bridge is an important example of engineering reflecting the construction techniques of its time through its arch form, wall construction system, and its relationship with the water.
As part of the survey, all measurements of the structure were taken precisely, and material analyses and deterioration assessments were examined in detail. Critical elements such as arch geometry, stone arrangement, and ground-water relationship were transferred to drawings, and data aimed at understanding the structural behavior of the building were revealed.
This study provides a foundation for restoration and restitution projects to be prepared for the preservation and transmission of the bridge to the future; it also serves as an important document in terms of the sustainability of cultural heritage.
