The survey work carried out on five traditional mansions located in the Sur district of Diyarbakır involves a comprehensive analysis process aimed at documenting the civil architectural heritage of the region and revealing its spatial character. As part of the study, plan, section, and facade drawings of the structures were prepared, and their current condition was meticulously recorded.
The mass effect, characterized by basalt stone, the living structure shaped around the inner courtyard, and the climatic role of semi-open spaces such as the veranda, have been evaluated in line with the measurements and observations made. The architectural language, interpreted through traditional construction techniques, material usage, and facade arrangement, provides important data reflecting the cultural continuity of the region.
The survey data obtained aims to create a solid foundation for restoration processes aimed at preserving and passing on structures to future generations.
